RTP (return to player) is the theoretical percentage of total wagers returned to players over a very long period. An RTP of 97% does not mean you will get RM97 back from RM100 in one session.
What is a worked RTP example?
At 97% RTP the theoretical house edge is 3%. On RM100 of total wagers, the long-run average loss is RM3. If you keep re-spinning the same balance, total wagers rise quickly, and so does the average loss.
Why can one session differ widely from RTP?
RTP does not describe volatility. A highly volatile slot can produce many spins with no win and a few large wins. Past results also do not change the odds of the next spin.
Can you trust the RTP figure on a page?
Gempak99's homepage shows labels such as "RTP 97.90%" on selected games. We could not audit them. Where possible, compare the figure with information from the game provider, and remember that RTP can differ by version.
How should you use RTP?
Use RTP to understand the cost of playing, not to pick a game that "will win". Set money and time limits first. Learn more in the slots guide and in how turnover is calculated.
